smargo: Now Available in Lucerne

It’s time! Starting now, the people of Lucerne can access smargo, the innovative mobility service offered by the Mobility Academy of the TCS.

Two electric mini-transporters are now available for hourly rental. The project, which is already running successfully in the cities of Bern, Basel, Lausanne, Schaffhausen, and Zurich, has been made possible in Lucerne with the support of the Albert Koechlin Foundation and the city of Lucerne.

The agile transporters, only 1.30 meters wide, are ideal for transporting bulky goods, doing large shopping trips, or handling logistics, such as for events. The smargos can be booked through our sharing platform “carvelo.”

A category B driver’s license is required. The rental cost is CHF 5 per hour, plus a base fee of CHF 5.

The two smargo locations in Lucerne are at “Wärchbrogg” at Alpenquai 4 and at the “Hotel Restaurant Rebstock” at St. Leodegarstrasse 3.

With this offer, Lucerne is making another contribution to promoting sustainable mobility in urban areas.
